It all began in the workshop of Oliver Neugebauer, a master stove builder, who over a decade ago had the vision of creating an outdoor kitchen with an open fire feature.
For him, outdoor kitchens were more than just products – they were the heart of the garden, a gathering place for enjoyment and life’s pleasures. A major challenge for Oliver was finding the right material – steel, stainless steel – nothing met his high standards. Then, a renowned professor led him to the decisive solution: marine-grade aluminum. A robust, weather-resistant, and durable material that lasts for generations – exactly what he needed for his masterpiece. In 2015, the Freiluft kitchen was born. In 2017, it was honored with the German Design Award.

Over time, together with engineers and specialists in surface technology, we have refined the system, improved materials and construction, and made the Freiluft kitchen even more durable. We have developed new concepts such as the Freiluft fire and the Freiluft island, designed not only for cooking but also for bringing people together. Most importantly, we realized that every kitchen must be unique – tailored to the space, the style, and the life of its owners. To highlight this uniqueness, each handcrafted piece is adorned with a one-of-a-kind plaque bearing the manufacturing number.

Today, Freiluft is more than just a brand. We embody the art of creating exceptional landscapes of indulgence and sophisticated garden culture. We craft spaces where craftsmanship, design, and fire seamlessly come together to create something truly unique within nature.
